  • Where should I book my accommodation?
    We have curated a list of 4 hotel options to fit a range of budgets, they are: 1. Hilton Garden Inn Bordeaux City Center (click here for a discounted rate) 2. Ibis Bordeaux Center Meriadeck 3. Novotel Bordeaux Gare Saint Jean 4. InterContinental Bordeaux Le Grand Hotel We recommend booking early to avoid price increases.
  • Can I book my accommodation elsewhere?
    Of course! However please be aware that on days where ground transportation is provided pick up will only be from one of the 4 recommended hotels.
  • What date should I RSVP by?
    To ensure everything runs smoothly, please RSVP by March 31st 2024. If we haven't heard from you by then, we'll assume you're unable to attend. Your prompt response will help us organise everything perfectly. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • Can I bring a plus one?
    We wish we could accommodate everyone, but space is limited. To make it fair to all guests, we've allocated seats for up to 2 people per family. Please understand that we will not have extra room on the coach or at the wedding reception for uninvited plus ones. We appreciate your understanding in making our day as smooth as possible.
  • Can I bring my child/children?
    Unfortunately, our venue has some restrictions and as such, we can only accommodate children under the age of 2, and those in the Bridal train. We know arranging childcare can be tricky, so we suggest checking out Marypop for available nanny services in Bordeaux. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
  • When should I arrive?
    To avoid travel disruptions, we recommend that all guests arrive on or before Monday 26th August. We would also love to have you join us for drinks in the evening. Arriving earlier also give guests the chance to explore Bordeaux before the day if they wish.
  • What is the Dress code?
    Monday 26th August (Pre-Wedding Drinks): Dressy Casual Tuesday 27th August (Wedding Day): Formal/Black-Tie or Traditional Attire Wednesday 28th August (Hennessy Factory Tour): Casual and Comfortable
  • Can I give a gift, and where can I find the registry?
    Your generosity means the world to us! If you'd like to give a gift, please click here for the registry. As we'll be travelling back to Canada with limited luggage, cash gifts toward our house fund, honeymoon fund, and pet fund would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for considering!
  • What can I do in Bordeaux?

  • What will the weather be like?
    August is one of the warmest months in Bordeaux, with temperatures generally reaching a high of 27.5°C (or even higher in previous years).
  • I have a question, who do I contact?
    If yyou have questions before August 2024, please contact the bride or groom. If you have questions in August (especially during the wedding week) please contact the wedding planning team. Their details will be shared by June 2024
  • What is the Hennessy Factory Tour and Tasting?
    Bordeaux is known for its amazing wines, and next door to the north, the Cognac region is renowed for its Cognac. We have organised for guests to join a tour of the Hennessy factory including a complementary cognac tasting. Activity details: Pavillons Cellar : Discovery of the history and know-how of Maison Hennessy Brand new immersive experience in virtual reality Discovery of a traditional ageing cellar in operation where Tasting of Hennessy’s VS, VSOP Dry, on ice and in a cocktail Discovery of the Hennessy boutique, the only boutique in the world all of Hennessy’s cognac range as well as limited and collector's editions. To celebrate Bordeaux, we will have plenty of local red wine available at the welcome drinks and wedding reception, for guests to taste and experience.
  • Where is the pick-up point for the Hennesy Factory Tour and Tasting?

  • Do I have to attend the Post-Wedding Activity on Wednesday August 28th?
    The Pre-Wedding Drinks and Post-Wedding Activity are optional activities. We would love to have everyone join all events; however, we understand that you may wish to explore Bordeaux on your own or have some time to rest.
  • How do I get to Bordeaux from the UK?
    Plane - 1 hr 30 mins (from London) Bordeaux is served by Bordeaux Airport (BOD). There are regular direct flights from most UK airports. Train - 5 to 6 hrs (from London) We do not recommend this route unless you are planning to visit Paris. Take the Eurostar from St. Pancras Station to Paris and then a TGV train from Paris to Bordeaux. Please remember, Bordeaux is not near Paris.
  • How can I get from the airport to the City Center?
    Getting to Bordeaux City Centre from the airport is very convenient. There are 3 main options available: • Tram (40 mins) • Shuttle Bus to Railway Station (30 mins) • Taxis including Uber (~15 mins) Once you are in the city centre getting around is relatively easy by foot, but we recommend using Google Maps when exploring the sites. Uber is also widely available.
  • Do I need to organise transport to Château Isiadinso, our Wedding reception venue?
    A coach will be organised to transport all guests to and from Château Isiadinso, Clérac, France. Details will be provided closer to the day. Please ensure to arrive on time.
  • What time will the coach return from Château Isiadinso?
    Summer weddings in France generally start in the late afternoon and go until the early hours. A coach has been arranged to return guests to Bordeaux city centre at the end of the night. We have also arranged a quiet room for guests to take a break during the night, if they wish.
  • What is the nearest airport to Bordeaux?
    Bordeaux Airport (BOD) is the nearest airport.
  • Do I need to organise transport to the Hennesy Factory Tour and Tasting?
    A coach will be organised to transport all guests to and from the Hennessy Factory tour. Details will be provided closer to the day. Please ensure to arrive at the pickup point on time.
  • What is the Wedding Day Itinerary?
    1. Wedding Ceremony 2. Transport to Venue (coach transport provided) 3. A Night at Chateau Isiadinso 3.1. Cocktail Hour 3.2. Dinner 3.3. Reception 4. Transport to Bordeaux City Centre (Hilton Garden Inn). Further details to follow.
  • Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
    We have an incredible photography and videography team ready to capture the best moments, so we kindly ask guests to refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • Can I share pictures on social media?
    Absolutely, feel free to share your moments! We've set up an Instagram page for guests to tag and share pictures with. Follow @isialovestory and use the hashtag #isia.lovestory. We'll also be sharing our engagement photos and travel adventures here. Looking forward to seeing all the memories captured!
  • What is Formal, Black-Tie Optional?
    Women Formal Black Tie: Let's make it an elegant affair with formal evening dresses, ideally below the knee, or a formal suit. Feel free to showcase your style with colours too. Traditional attire: Traditional attire is also welcome. We won't be selling Aso Ebi, so choose any color that speaks to you. *The ceremony will take place in a Catholic Church, so ladies, please remember to cover your shoulders. If your dress doesn't, don't worry; just bring along a scarf for the ceremony. Men Black-tie formal suits: Let's dress to impress in formal suits paired with a bow tie or long tie. Traditional attire is warmly welcomed too.
  • Will the wedding be live streamed?
    Yes, a livestream of the ceremony will be available on the day. Details will be provided closer to the day.
  • What type of food will you be serving for the reception?
    We're thrilled for our guests to experience French culture and cuisine during our events. French delicacies, including chicken and a vegetarian option, will be served throughout, along with a selection of canapés during cocktail hour and dinner. Please remember to mention any dietary restrictions on your RSVP. If you have specific dietary needs and prefer to bring your own food, you're welcome to do so. We have a microwave available for your convenience. Just notify the bride and groom in advance so our staff can assist you accordingly.
  • Will there be an open bar?
    Yes, drinks will be available at the bar for guests to enjoy throughout the evening.
  • Where is the pick-up point for the Wedding Day?

  • What are welcome drinks?
    To kick off the celebrations, we're gathering at a local restaurant for drinks before the big day. We'll be offering red wine, but guests are welcome to purchase any additional drinks or food they desire. See you there for a toast to the upcoming festivities! Details to follow.
  • Do I have to attend the Pre-Wedding Drinks on Monday August 26th?
